Sister taxa: Yanornis guozhangi, Aberratiodontus wui

Type specimen: IVPP V12558, a skeleton (complete individual without feather impressions). Its type locality is Chaoyang City Yanornis type locality, which is in an Aptian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Jiufotang Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of China (2 collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
