Type specimen: University of Antananarivo 9600, a set of vertebrae (fused cervical (atlantal) and second presacral centra). Its type locality is MAD93-25 (SUNY), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Maevarano Formation of Madagascar.
