Sister taxon: Izikoziphius rossi

Type specimen: SAM PQ 3004, a partial skull (partial skull including the rostrum and most of the dorsal surface of teh cranium with the vertex). Its type locality is Izikoziphius type locality, which is in a Miocene/Miocene marine phosphorite in South Africa.

Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore

Distribution: found only at Izikoziphius type locality
