Sister taxon: Izikoziphius angustus
Type specimen: PEM N 3265, a partial skull (partial skull including the rostru, the anterior part of the cranium, and the vertex). Its type locality is Southern Africa, offshore, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene marine phosphorite in South Africa.
Ecology: aquatic piscivore-carnivore
