Sister taxon: Gambelia wislizenii
Type specimen: LACM 7058/42880 (skull and mandible). Its type locality is Anza Borrego Desert State Park lizards, which is in a Blancan/Irvingtonian terrestrial horizon in the Palm Springs Formation of California.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Anza Borrego Desert State Park lizards
