Type specimen: HLMD Be 163 + 193, a skeleton (complete, articulated skeleton). Its type locality is Grube Messel Pit (Museum Darmstadt Collection), which is in a MP 11 crater lake claystone in the Messel Formation of Germany.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Grube Messel Pit (Museum Darmstadt Collection)
