• Coal-group 26 has a total thickness of 118 ft (including a 4 inch coaly shale). (Dawson, 1878 p. 170). Currently, the Cumberland Group is considered eqivalent to Westphalian A (Langsettian) (see e. g. Holmes et al., 1989, J. Vert. Paleont. 19; or Falcon-Lang et al. 2006, J. Geol. Soc. Lond. 163).(TL)
