3 miles west of Mount Britton Goldfield (Permian to of Australia)

Where: Queensland, Australia (21.5° S, 148.6° E: paleocoordinates 57.8° S, 146.2° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Moonlight Sandstone Member (Blenheim Formation), Wordian to Wordian (266.9 - 259.5 Ma)

• Exact stratigraphic position of this collection is uncertain. McClung & Armstrong (1978) describe the stratigraphic range of the species as from the undulosa and isbelli zones (of Runnegar & McClung 1975), but the isbelli zone ranges through the entire Moonlight Sandstone and includes the Echinalosia wassi/runnegari and a small part of the Pseudostrophalosia blakei zones. The E. wassi/runnegari zone is correlated with APP4.2 palynomorph zone (Briggs, 1998). The APP4.2 zone was constrained as late Wordian to mid-Wuchiapingian age by U-Pb dating in Laurie et al. (2016). In the Sydney Basin, these species are common in the Broughton Formation, dated as older than early Capitanian (a sample 2 m below the top yielded a radiometric date of 262.51 Ma in Metcalf et al., 2015). As a result, a Wordian-Capitanian age is assigned here.
