Where: Sind, Pakistan (26.9° N, 67.3° E: paleocoordinates 22.7° N, 67.8° E)

When: Gaj Formation, Langhian (16.0 - 13.8 Ma)

• age not discussed, but immediately underlies the Manchar Formation, whose basal fauna is "possibly 15 or 16 my old" (equivalent to Langhian)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; sandstone

• the top of the formation consists generally of "a littoral facies" that is a "shelf mud zone," but the collections are shown on a section diagram as coming from a sandstone
