• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From upper beds of the Chenque Fm, which unconformably overlies the Gran Barranca Mbr. THICKNESS: From multiple beds within formation that reaches a thickness of ~150 m. AGE: Early Miocene according to molluscan biostratigraphy. Assigned to the Early Miocene based on the the recognition of the upper JR assemblage (Late Oligocene-Early Miocene). STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From two beds in the uppermost part of the formation.
