Where: Marshall County, Iowa (42.0° N, 92.8° W: paleocoordinates 20.9° S, 36.9° W)
• coordinate based on political unit
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Eagle City Limestone Member (Hampton Formation), Kinderhookian (358.9 - 352.0 Ma)
• "Without more data I ... tentatively accept Laudon's (1931, p. 412) assignment of a Kinderhookian age for the upper Hampton Formation. Nevertheless, ther is no evidence from the brachiopod fauna, including the nonsilicified specimens, that would preclude and early Osagian age for these beds, especially considering the possibility that the upper Hampton formation sequence of central Iowa could conceivably represent a nearly continuous record of latest Kinderhookian - earliest Osagian sedimentation."
