When: Llajas Formation, Lutetian (47.8 - 41.3 Ma)

• Near top of the Llajas Formation, "Domengine" stage, middle of CP13a calcareous nannoplankton zone, upper Lutetian stage, Middle Eocene, C21n chron. Approximately 74 m below contact with Sespe Formation and above top of basal conglomerate of the Llajas Formation and 40 m stratigraphically above the Llajas and Santa Susana Formation contact.

Environment/lithology: offshore; bioturbated, silty sandstone

• Listed as "shallow marine regressive". This collection is from deposits of slightly deeper waters than those of the underlying transgressive shallow marine facies, and were less effected by storm reworking.
• Bioturbated silty sandstone with minor occurrences of laminated sandtsone and scattered fossiliferous units.
