Where: Gloucestershire County, New Jersey (39.7° N, 75.2° W: paleocoordinates 40.2° N, 50.8° W)

When: New Egypt Formation (Monmouth Group), Late/Upper Maastrichtian (70.6 - 66.0 Ma)

• upper part of formation, from the top of the "chocolate" bed in the marl pits, about 20 ft below the surface

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; green sandstone and brown marl

• specimen is from "the top of the "chocolate" bed, which immediately underlies the green stratum which is of such value as manure."
