• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Tortonian (11.6 - 7.2 Ma)

• Upper Fresh-water Molasse, Upper Tortonian

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; unlithified, coarse-grained sandstone and lignite

• In the lower 5 m of the pit there is fine sand, followed by medium gravel. Near the basis of the pit there is a resedimented layer in the sand, coarse with calcarous concretions, up to 50-60 cm in thickness. The main part of the fossils derived from this layer.
