Environment/lithology: deltaic; coarse-grained, ferruginous, micaceous, white, cherty/siliceous sandstone

• "the sands of the Arén Sandstone are composed of quartz with scarce feldspar, chert, quartzite, mica, and fossil debris, and show medium- and large-scale cross-bedding...The sandstone is a mixed arenite with white, coarse, well-rounded grains. Iron nodules and remnants of iron crusts are locally present."
