When: Tmed el Ksour Member (Zallah Formation), Priabonian (38.0 - 33.9 Ma)
• The name Zallah Formation was proposed to include the units Tmed El Ksour and Graret ek Jifa members of the Wadi Tamet Formation. The Tmed el Ksour Mbr is a persistent unit and has a uniform lithology along the western margin of the Sirte Basin. It is composed predominantly of chalky limestones to chalky dolomites with chert beds, and celestite and anhydrite layers. The member is 27-40 m (89-131 ft) in the type area. It is assigned a Priabonian age on the basis of paleotologic evidence.
