When: Gata Member (Wadi Tamet Formation), Lutetian (47.8 - 41.3 Ma)
• Only the upper 75 m (246 ft) of the member is exposed and it is overlain with a conformably sharp contact by the Tmed el Ksour Member. The exposed part consists of dolomites, argillaceous limestones, marlstones, calcareous claystones, and claystones. The upper 18 m (59 ft) is made up of cross-bedded dolomites and contains a coquinoid bed. Dated based on forams as Lutetian.
