• The Saqarra limestone is a 25 m (82 ft) thick unit composed of brown, siliceous, dolomitized, non-fossiliferous limestones, overlying the Mokattam Formation, and marked by a hard bivalve rich bed at the top. This unit has been included in the Minia Formation. It is equivalent to the Giran El Ful Member.
