• At Gebel Mokattam the Maadi Formation is made up of 1) bryozoan limestones, shales, and brown siliecous limestones; 2) foliated gypsiferous shales; 3) brown limestones; 4) COQUINOIDAL LIMESTONES; 5) siliceous limestones with molluscs; 6) siliceous limestones with echinoids; 7) calcareous sandstones. The total thickness of this seuqnece is approximately 90 m (295 ft).
