When: "Red Beds" Formation, Bartonian (41.3 - 38.0 Ma)

• The upper Eocene in this area is divided into (from base to top), the Cardita Series, Green beds, gypsiderous marls, Tanak beds, and Red beds. The "Red Beds" vary in thickness from a few centimeters to 20 m (66 ft), and comprise marls and shales. A Bartonian age gas been suggested for this unit.
