Karlich level B, im Neuwieder Becken (Pleistocene of Germany)

Also known as Kärlich Schicht B, im Neuwieder Becken, Kaerlich

Where: Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany (50.5° N, 7.5° E: paleocoordinates 50.5° N, 7.3° E)

• coordinate stated in text

When: Early/Lower Pleistocene (2.6 - 0.8 Ma)

• Level B is the second to lowest level (site goes level Jb). Dated to Latest Lower Pleistocene - Palaeomagnetism suggests between the Jaramillo event and the Brunhes/Matuyama boundary (present at the top of bed Bb). Cromerian zone I, Biharian.

• Clay pit. There are two stratigraphic layers in level B - Ba and Bb, the fauna is sparse and both levels are listed together. The levels are separated by a paleosol.
