Where: Gansu, China (34.0° N, 103.0° E: paleocoordinates 36.7° S, 127.0° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Zhouqu Formation, Wenlock (433.4 - 427.4 Ma)
• Except where otherwise stated, ref. 7624 uses Lower Silurian as equivalent to Llandovery, Middle Silurian as equivalent to Wenlock, and Upper Silurian as equivalent to Ludlow plus Pridoli. Two faunas found in the lower part of the formation: a graptolitic fauna, and shelly fauna just below it. Based on fossils, authors infer Wenlockian age.
