D. navicula-S. wilsoni Assoc., Lower Bringewood equivalents, east-central Wales (Silurian of the United Kingdom)

Where: England, United Kingdom (52.0° N, 3.0° W: paleocoordinates 27.9° S, 13.0° W)

• coordinate based on political unit

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Gorstian (427.4 - 425.6 Ma)

• Lower Bringewood equivalents (Atrypina Beds).

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; siltstone

• "Bottom currents led to improved water circulation and a better oxygenated sea bottom compared with the parallel laminated flags of the underlying Pterinea Beds. These irregularly laminated flags were deposited in quiet waters with a fairly low oxygen level but sufficient to support a low density and low diversity indigenous benthic fauna with individuals of small size. Teh facies position suggests a BA 4 assignment. Basin facies."
• "...irregularly laminated flags..."

Size class: macrofossils

Collection methods: Percent abundances are given, based on 17 samples.
