• AGE: Listed as "Late Pliocene" in comments and "Piacenzian" in maximum age; reassigned to Middle Pleistocene, which is the accepted age of the Lomita Marl of modern workers; some 1960s-1970s research suggested a middle Pliocene age, but this is no longer considered valid (Hendy, 2021).
