When: Gebel Dist Member (Bahariya Formation), Late/Upper Cenomanian (99.6 - 93.5 Ma)
• Dominik (1985) reported the early Late Cenomanian ammonite Neolobites vibrayeanus from both the Gebel Dist Member (upper part) and the El Heiz Member (now Formation), confirmed by Wiese & Schulze, 2005 in their review of north African Neolobites. Malchus (1990) also compared the oysters from throughout the Gebel Dist Member with ones from the Egyptian eastern desert, dated by good ammonite age control as early Late Cenomanian.
