Amor-1 (Cretaceous of Spain)

Also known as Serraduy del Pon, Aren, Amor 1; AM1

Where: Aragón, Spain (42.3° N, 0.6° E: paleocoordinates 34.4° N, 0.5° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Conques Formation (Tremp Group), Late/Upper Maastrichtian (70.6 - 66.0 Ma)

• Upper part of the Conques Formation, close to the K/P boundary

•The Conques Formation is equivalent to the "lower Red Garumnian" facies. The Conques Formation was previously assigned a late maastrichtian age (Sellés and Villa 2015; Villa et al. 2015) Biostratigraphy and Sr stable isotope geochemistry suggest that the La Posa and Conques Formation are entirely early Maastrichtian, lying within chron C31r (see Caus et al. 2016; Oms et al. 2016; Fondevilla et al. 2016; Fondevilla et al. 2019).

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: "floodplain"; coarse-grained sandstone

• Floodplain and fluvial environment laterally close to coastal lagoon deposits
• coarse-grained sandstones

Size class: macrofossils

Collection methods: MPZ (Museo Paleontologico de la Universidad de Zaragoza)
