When: Atwater Member (Crooked Creek Formation), Gelasian (2.6 - 1.8 Ma)

• overlies Pearlette type "B" ash, dated at 1.96 (= 2.01) +/- 0.05 Ma (KA on sanidine) by Naeser et al. 1973

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; volcaniclastic siltstone

• Goodwin and Hayes 1994: Specimens were collected from a weathered ash and silt layer 1.22 m thick overlying a bedded volcanic ash.
