• "Occurs in argillaceous, sand-size sediment. The shells are almost entirely disarticulated and occur as coquinas...Beds about 10 cm thick...Prominent crossbeds and ripples are absent." Watkins and Boucot (1975) (PBDB ref. 6975) add that the sediment is red and hematite-rich.
