Environment/lithology: marginal marine; siltstone and claystone

• The facies indicates decantation of silts and clays in shallow water bodies.
• dark-gray laminated siltstones and claystones assigned to tidal flat deposits.

Size class: macrofossils

• One of this is an undescribed incomplete individual (specimen UNCUYO-LD uncatalogued) represented by disarticulated plates and appendicular bones. The other is the holotype of the new taxon here described (specimen MACN Pv M2), which is represented by cranial remains, appendicular bones and articulated plates of the carapace and plastron.
