Environment/lithology: marine; black, silty claystone and fine, quartzose, gray, green sandstone
•"Stiff, black...silty clay matrix with common to abundant dark greenish grey (5GY 4/1) well sorted, very fine to fine quartz sand in flaser beds a few mm to 2 cm thick."
•Fossils are concentrated in the overlying Pliocene beds as a transgressive lag.
