When: Merritt Dam Member (Ash Hollow Formation), Clarendonian to Clarendonian (12.5 - 9.4 Ma)

• Skinner et al. 1984 mention that the Davis ash located near the base of the Merritt Dam member is between 9~11Ma. Smith et al. then U-Pb date the Grove Lake ash beds within the Merritt Dam member to ~6.4Ma, this suggests that deposition of the Merritt Dam began in the Claredonian and throughout the Hemphillian
