• this fm. has been dated at 36.7 +/- 1.4 Ma (K-Ar) in the same Co. and mountain range, but relationship of dated unit to fossil localities is unclear; Lucas and Williamson 1993c discuss a date of 35.28 Ma Ar-Ar (no error given) for the overlying Kneeling Nun Tuff, said to be "well- established" and therefore useable as a tie point
