Where: Italy (45.4° N, 11.5° E: paleocoordinates 41.5° N, 9.6° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Priabonian (38.0 - 33.9 Ma)
Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; packstone
•benthic foraminifera in calcareous marly pack stones. Skeletal particles account for at least 75% of rock volume. The orthophragminid packstones occur as beds 20-50 cm thick within orthophragminid rudstones, may overlain the infilling sediments of the canalised structures or form laterally to these latter “decimetre-scale” lenses.
Size classes: mesofossils, microfossils
