Environment/lithology: terrestrial; gray, carbonaceous marl

• "a grey marl rich in gypsum crystals...The gypsiferous bed intercalates with coal-bearing grey marls, limestones and shell beds (mainly consisting of remains of the snail Melanoides and the clam Cyrena)."
