Dayia Community in Minija Formation (Silurian of Lithuania)

Where: Lithuania (55.3° N, 22.3° E: paleocoordinates 15.1° S, 0.8° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Minija Formation, Pridoli (423.0 - 419.2 Ma)

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; gray, green marl and argillaceous limestone

• "Occurs in greenish-gray and gray marls with interbeds of argillaceous limestones belonging to the fourth facies zones...Sedimentation...took place in a pericratonic basin under conditions of increased terrigenous material supply. [Conflicting evidence on depth discussed in detail: BA assignment difficult: perhaps 2,3, or 4]. More than 95% of D. n. specimens articulated..[indicating] quiet water...below or at wave base under dysaerobic conditions (suggested by gray...marl)."
