When: Baculites asperformis ammonoid zone, Sharon Springs Member (Pierre Shale Formation), Middle Campanian (83.5 - 70.6 Ma)

• Collected from the Baculites asperformis zone (Gill, Cobban, and Schultz, 1972) in the upper level of the Sharon Springs Member (middle Campanian) of the Pierre Shale. It was located about 3 m below the contact with the Weskan Member, 95 cm below the lower of 2 layers of phosphate nodules (phosphatic shale unit of Gill, Cobban, and Schultz, 1972), and immediately above a layer of large septarian concretions.
