Collection methods: From 1940-1957, Aureal T. Cross collected specimens from 150 localities in 36 horizons throughout the Dunkard Area. In 1956, Hans Bode recollected in some of the same locations. In 1971 and 1972, Charles Balasco collected from the Waynesburg coal horizons. Gary J. Hennen observed the Paul Stewart Collection at Waynesburg College. Collections from James Barlow were also used.
