Where: Gansu, China (36.6° N, 103.0° E: paleocoordinates 37.8° N, 105.7° E)

When: Xiangtang Formation, Late/Upper Jurassic (161.5 - 145.0 Ma)

• All of the specimens of the four localities are apparently derived from the same level marked as Jkh2 on the local geological map. It is unconformably below the younger Ref beds of the Kansu Formation... it is considered Lower Jurassic.

•Subsequently listed as Middle Jurassic by Li et al. 2008. The Chinese Fossil Reptiles and their Kin.

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; red claystone and green sandstone

• Purplish green sandstones with red clays, containing fossil bones described in the present paper

Size class: macrofossils
