• Specimen has dubious location data and essentially no age control. Even the provenance from the Rochester Volcanics is in doubt.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified tuff and unlithified, tuffaceous shale

• Felsitic lavas, volcanic breccia and tuffs. [The specimen] occurs in tuffaceous shale, about 4000 feet below the top of the formation.
