Environment/lithology: "floodplain"; fine-grained, medium, dolomitic, intraclastic sandstone

• Sedimentological studies of Recent lake Ezequiel Ramos Mexia show that the area is a depositional fluvial environment crossed by an association of shallow water bodies, some of them relatively wide, subjected to a regime of sporadic seasonal flooding. The climate was temperate with alternate rainy and dry periods
• Ferruginous sandstone matrix. The rock is a medium-to fine-grained sandstone with pelitic intraclasts in tabular bodies
