South of Negritos (Paleocene of Peru)

Where: Peru (4.7° S, 81.3° W: paleocoordinates 17.1° S, 114.2° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: P4c-P5 foram zone, Thanetian (59.2 - 56.0 Ma)

• said to have been collected in the Máncora Formation, but this is rejected by the authors based on planktonic foram biostratigraphy that indicates a "P4c-P5; late Thanetian" age

Environment/lithology: offshore shelf; lithified siliciclastic sediments

• "siliceous matrix" or "hemipelagic sediments and microcrystalline silica"
