Lufengpithecus chiangmuanensis

Taxonomy
Lufengpithecus chiangmuanensis was named by Chaimanee et al. (2003). Its type specimen is TF 6171, a set of teeth, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ban Sa, which is in a MN 7 + 8/MN 9 mire/swamp lignite/mudstone in Thailand.

It was synonymized subjectively with Lufengpithecus keiyuanensis by Pickford et al. (2004); it was recombined as Khoratpithecus chiangmuanensis by Chaimanee et al. (2003), Chaimanee et al. (2003) and Chaimanee et al. (2006).
