Plesiadapis praecursor
Taxonomy
Plesiadapis praecursor was named by Gingerich (1975). Its type specimen is PU 14512, a mandible (left mandible with alveoli for I1 P2-3 M3 and the crowns of P4 M1-2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Douglass Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in Montana.
