Moradisaurus was named by Taquet (1969). It is not extant. Its type is Moradisaurus grandis.

It was assigned to Moradisaurinae by de Ricqlès and Taquet (1982); and to Captorhinidae by Taquet (1969) and Carroll (1988).

P. Taquet 1969Captorhinidé de grande taille. Plateaux dentaires du palais très développés (occupant la majeure partie du palais) avec 9 rangées principales de dents régulièrement alignées et une à deux rangées de quelques dents. Plateau se prolongeant vers l’avant par 9 à 10 dents plus fortes. Plateaux dentaires de la mandibule comparables à ceux du palais avec 9 rangées de dents se prolongeant vers l’avant par 5 dents plus grosses dont une très puissante. Plateaux dentaires du palais et de la mandibule à bord externe droit, à bord interne en croissant. Dents coniques. Articulation carré-articulaire tout à fait à l’arrière du crâne, à l’aplomb de la face occipitale. Processus coronoïde très puissant à la mandibule. Sculpture superficielle à la surface du crâne et à la face externe de la mandibule.
[Large captorhinid. Tooth plates of palate strongly developed (occupy large parts of palate) with nine main rows of regularly arranged teeth and one to two rows with few teeth. Plate is extended anteriorly by 9 to 10 more robust teeth. Tooth plates of mandible which bear 9 rows of theeth and thus are comparable to those of the palate, are extended anteriorly by 5 larger teeth among which is a very robust one. Tooth plates of palate and mandible with straight external and crescentic internal margin. Teeth conical. Quadrate-articular joint at very posterior end of skull, at level of occiput. Very robust coronoid process in the mandible. Upper surface of cranium and external surface of mandible sculptured.]
