Taxonomy
Plesiadapis ploegi was named by De Bast et al. (2018). Its type specimen is RIV.PPV0544, a tooth (Left p4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Petit Pâtis, Rivecourt, which is in a Paleocene fluvial-lacustrine lignite in France.
