Lanthanostegus mohoii
Taxonomy
Lanthanocephalus mohoii was named by Modesto et al. (2002). Its type specimen is NMQR 3396, a partial skull (right circumorbital region, posterior skull table, occiput, and adjacent regions of braincase), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mandalay farm, Klipplaat District, which is in a Capitanian delta plain horizon in the Koonap Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Lanthanostegus.
It was recombined as Lanthanostegus mohoii by Modesto et al. (2003).
