Type specimens:
- Gordoniconus beargulchensis: AMNH 50267/43264, a shell. Its type locality is Bear Gulch (AMNH collection), which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.
- Syllipsimopodi bideni: ROMIP 64897. Its type locality is Bear Gulch (ROM Collection), which is in an Arnsbergian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Carboniferous of United States (4: Montana collections)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
