Type specimen: MNHN LGA 176, a set of vertebrae. Its type locality is La-Grive-Saint-Alban, which is in a MN 5/MN 7 + 8 fissure fill horizon in France.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Austria (3 collections), the Czech Republic (1), France (3), Germany (13), Serbia and Montenegro (3)
• Oligocene of Germany (3), Turkey (1)
