• The sidewall core seems clearly to be from the upper part of the middle Eocene because Celtis and Gothanipollis are fairly abundant in this sample.

Environment/lithology: marine; argillaceous, sandy siltstone

• Light-gray to light-buff clay and silt; contains variable amounts of sand and lignite.
